‘I bought a reconditioned Norfolk Gypsy, no. 72, from Neil Thompson Boats in 2012 and have been delighted with the boat. My wife and I have used it so far only on the Norfolk Broads but have found it a fine boat, with excellent performance in strong winds when it is reassuringly stable. Of course it is designed for coastal and sea sailing, not for the Broads, and its speed and tacking ability does not quite match specialist Broads sailing boats. However, I know I would happily take the Gypsy out to sea leaving the Broads yacht safely tucked up in a sheltered mooring! The quality of finish on the Gypsy is superb, from the rigging to the attractive wood trim features, from capacious lockers to the reliable inboard Yanmar engine and the internal cabin is well laid out with comfortable berths for two. It is also a very pretty boat much admired by other sailors.’
